I will leave zero stars for this store and its manages an employee because I was totally scammed ripped off manipulated and basically threatened. I went to Pep Boys three days ago because my car was overheating. I stopped and looked underneath and I saw a leak. I immediately drove it to Pep Boys and Pacho on sunrise Highway as soon as I came in, I let them know. My car is overheating. There is definitely leak. Is there a way you can take a look at it and find out whats going on where the leak is and see if we can get it fixed so he told me there would be a $40 fee to have it take a look at and find out whats going on so three hours later they get back to me and they tell me this big lawn ****** of things on a thermostat. They need to flush will need hoses soon. Youll need an air conditioner compressor soon and it will need a fan belt soon so I told him the prices is gonna cost which was over $1800. Yeah. all I told him is at the moment. I cant do all of it. Lets just do what needs to be done now so he told me it was the thermostat and I should do the hoses and the flush and both the belts so I chose what was the most necessary so now two days later I come to pick it up and he tells me oh your water pump needs to be changed. There is a leak. I said why wasnt this checked? I thought you checked it. I came in here for the leak. That was my complaint. I said can you see where the leak is and well have it Fixed. He never once brought up the leak again so I thought there was no more leak or there was no leak at all everything that he fixed was really nothing wrong with it. It was just it should be done. It didnt need to be done. What needed to be done? Was the water pump which now Im gonna also have to have Done which is over $1000 so now I spent $1200 that couldve went towards the water pump, which is more of a necessity, this was an absolute scam and I want to file some sort of complaint for them to do my water pump for free.

The quoted price for the alternator was more than double that of local reputable shops. Initially, I was informed that my battery was in acceptable condition. However, that assessment was inexplicably reversed and I was charged an additional $200. In an effort to mitigate inflated costs, I purchased a battery from ******** myselfwalking to and from the store to avoid being overcharged by $75. What was estimated as a two-hour job turned into a seven-hour ordeal. Upon receiving my vehicle, I discovered that the passenger-side windowfully operational prior to this visitno longer functioned. Worse, my windshield wipers were completely inoperable, a critical safety failure that left me navigating heavy night traffic in ******* without visibility. I was forced to pull over and manually clear my windshield to avoid an accident. This is unacceptable and potentially liable negligence. To add to the frustration, I paid $60 for a diagnostic at your ****** location that proved unnecessary. Days later, the ***** location conducted its own diagnostics and found no such issues. I then took the vehicle to a ****** service center, where they corrected both the window and wiper issues in under 30 minutes for $170far less than the $500+ in unnecessary repairs suggested by your team. This calls into question the accuracy and integrity of your diagnostic processes. Furthermore, the staff at the ***** location made a minimal attempt to address the issues, only to abruptly disengage and leave me to drive home in the rain with no working windshield wipers. This disregard for customer safety is deeply troubling. I must also highlight the ongoing lack of transparency in my dealings with Pep Boys. During a prior tire repair visit, I was told the tire was completely gone but was not shown the damaged tire, nor provided any clear explanation of the service performed. This pattern of vague communication and minimal disclosure is both unprofessional and unacceptable.

Was denied a job at the ************* NY location for a felony over 5 years old. I provided my rehabilitation paperwork which was my completion of 3 month intensive inpatient rehabilitation along with a professional & long letter explaining everything. I feel this is unfair and in complete violation of my rights and law.

Dear All,I hereby file a formal claim against the Pep Boys location in ************* where I had my vehicle serviced for its annual inspection.I received an email with an estimate of $1,600, which I formally authorized. Approximately a week later, I went to the location to pick up my vehicle and was contacted with a charge of $3,990. At no time was I notified or asked to approve any additional service that would justify this significant increase. Furthermore, I was informed that my car would not be released until the full amount was paid. This conduct is abusive and illegal under New Hampshire State Regulations. According to the Motor Vehicle Repair Regulations (RSA 358-D):The location must provide a written estimate and may not perform additional service without the express consent of the customer; If the cost exceeds the estimate, the customer must be notified and specifically authorize the continuation of the service; It is illegal to impound a vehicle as a way of charging for unauthorized ************************** addition, the ************************ (***) also reinforces that the consumer must authorize any repair before it is performed, under penalty of violating basic consumer rights.

I recently went to Pep Boys for a leak in my front passenger tire on my 2023 **** Maverick Hybrid. I went to store #**** located at *******************************************. When the gentleman came to get my car and drive it back to the service area, he drove my truck at a very high rate of speed. I waited for the tire to get repaired and the same individual took the car and drove off at a very high rate in the opposite direction of where I was.I then went to the counter and asked why is this gentleman joy riding in my truck. I was told that he had to drive around like this to test the **** sensor. I told the representative I get my vehicles service all the time and no one has ever driven around my vehicles like this to fix a flat tire or make sure the tire warning light goes off.The representative then told me that I probably take my car to back alley mechanics and they dont do the proper testing.I tried to politely explain to the young representative that we normally only service our vehicles at the new car dealership and that we do not patronize back alley mechanics. The representative continue to insult me, and I told him that Pep Boys will never get customers when they have poor customer **********************. The representative laughed and said we dont need anything from you.I felt very insulted by this exchange. I did not see the reason the representative was driving my vehicle like a race car. Nor did I understand the logic of the representative that said that this was necessary to test the **** tire pressure monitor system like this. When I told the Pep Boys representative that I repair industrial control systems that work with pressure similar to the *** system the representative simply told me why didnt I fix it myself and laughed.I would not recommend this Pep Boys to anyone because they are very poor customer service.*** ******

Took my car to them for a new battery installation. Left vehicle there and about 2 hours later received a phone call telling me I needed a $1400.00 alternator replacement which I turned down. I was told if I didn't replace it I would be left stranded on the side of the road within a few miles. I went to get to get my car and was informed they were voiding any warranty on the new battery since I refused the replacement. I asked for them to show me with a meter the defective alternators 0v output which they refused to be able to do at that time.I went to another shop two days later and they performed a complete electrical charging system test (for free) and gave me a printout sho2ing everything was working correctly. This business clearly tried to ******* a handicapped senior out of $1400.

Not happy with service. Horrible turn around time. I had an appointment still waited over 2 hours to be serviced. No proper updates or estimate on service job being complete. Customer ********************** is very dry and not friendly. Due to employee demeanor felt like I had to remind them to do the required check for my oil change service including putting caps back on. Wouldnt recommend.

I brought my van into Pep Boys Temecula for brake work and was charged over $2,000, including a master cylinder that didnt fix the issue. They only told me about a possible ABS system failure after I paid, then tried to sell me another $2,000 repair. I was also charged for a warranty without my permission. Staff gave me conflicting information, didnt document key details on my invoice, and dismissed my concerns like I didnt know what I was talking about. I later learned they may not have even bled my brakes correctly. *** filed formal complaints with Pep Boys Corporate and the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. ******.
